Bruin Creek - Marc Pierce Bear Sculpture
This "Bruin Creek" sculpture is meticulously handcrafted by artists based on Marc Pierce's own life experiences. Each piece comes with a copy of the story from which it was inspired:
"There is something vastly intriguing about the connection of bears and fish. My fascination is one part anthropomorphic story - "Yogi" bears pursuing the slippery fish - and two parts biology and ecology - fish being such a critical part of some bear species and populations diet. Whatever the reason, history at Big Sky Carvers tells us that when we portray bears and fish together, whether whimsical or serious, folks love the imagery. With this design we wanted to project a very accurate black bear with a base element that tied in the fish imagery in an interesting way."
