Strut Parade - Marc Pierce Sculpture
This "Strut Parade" sculpture is meticulously handcrafted by artists based on Marc Pierce's own life experiences. Each piece comes with a copy of the story from which it was inspired:
"The first time I hunted turkey, which happened to be in the great state of Mississippi in the late 1970s, I was soon convinced that they were too smart to fool! The dense hardwoods forest, the warm weather, and of course, the natural wariness of these great birds proved too tough for me and I struck out. Only after years of hunting gobblers do I understand now that the birds just weren't gobbling that week in Mississippi either. Lucky for me, I didn't give up on turkey hunting and can look back on 30 years of the game and a healthy number of birds bagged. I can wholeheartedly say that I love turkey hunting and have enjoyed sharing it with friends and family. It's a great time of year to be in the woods, a magnificent bird (which also happens to be delicious) and a hunting style that usually includes calling your quarry to you. What could be better? In this scene, three lovesick gobblers are strutting, gobbling and moving towards a hen."
